hotel is close to Brussels Central Station. entire city centre is within walking distance. hotel is housed in a former convent where the famous French artist Jacques-Louis David spent his last years. hotel is interestingly decorated and designers have really worked hard on it. In the elevators there are church chorals singing, in the corridors no, no and smells of incense, bit gloomy, clearly expressed its own character. room is also very interestingly decorated. Beautiful furniture. There is a safe, mini-bar, kettle, coffee machine, ironing board, large TV. bathroom is spacious enough, lots of space for toiletries. There are bathrobes and slippers in the room... Beautiful lobby downstairs, breakfast is served in the restaurant overlooking the small patio. Breakfasts are good. In addition to a rather diverse buffet, you can order eggs (including Benedictine), hot waffles, pancakes, etc. to your taste.
We got a room on the second floor. Right across the street, close, is the building. We asked for a quiet room (the hotel itself is very quiet), under the window at night and early in the morning there was a regular rumble, room smelled like food (fried potatoes or something). Apparently, there were ventilation exits from some restaurant outside. window had to be kept curtained at all times because of the close windows of the next house. Also, it was very cold in the room. We turned on the air conditioner for maximum heating and it worked almost all the time (quite noisy), only on the second day it got a little warmer and comfortable temperature didn't become comfortable until the very departure. Breakfast at the hotel costs 27 euros per person. We received a proposal from the hotel a couple of days before arrival to order breakfast for 20 euros. since we are always afraid that we will not have time for breakfast, we prefer not to order them in advance, However. we all three days still used breakfasts and paid the full price for them, In our opinion. price of breakfast is clearly overpriced, In addition. we have 150 euros blocked on the card as a deposit in case of any spending at the hotel, every day breakfast was written off the money above that deposit, deposit. of course, has not been cancelled, so it will return no sooner than in a month, There was a prospectus in the room offering various hotel services. One of them was a massage. My daughter asked the front desk if it was possible to order a massage. At first she was told that the hotel does not provide such services at all. when she referred to the avenue, they said that on holidays it is impossible, in general it will be too expensive, across the street there is a massage salon, so it is better to turn to it (, At the request to change a large bill. we were told that there is no change at the reception and advised to contact a nearby bank, was closed, On the whole. we had the impression that the reception was working carelessly and not attentively enough,
